Topic: Life Safety Evaluations: What They Are and Why They Are Important
This presentation discusses the need for an NFPA 101®, Life Safety Code®, life safety evaluation (LSE) for assembly occupancies where an occupant load exceeds 6,000 occupants. The general requirements of an LSE as well as the components included will be discussed. Following the general requirements for such an analysis, a case-study will be shared on Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Key takeaways from this LSE will be discussed, with of most importance being a smoke movement analysis through computational modeling to ensure that smoke protected seating provisions are maintained. The 90-minute presentation will discuss the code requirements for an LSE, what was found when developing the report, and recommendations to meet code requirements.
Business meeting will be in-person only. Technical presentation can be viewed in-person or remotely on Teams.
Meeting fee does not include meals or drinks.
